Meet the weirdest fashion trend you've ever seen! Camel toe underwear
There is a new fashion trend taking the industry by storm, and it's making headlines in the process: camel toe-simulating underwear.
The fashion trend was initially created in Japan in the late 2000's. It has now made a comeback, and women are flocking to the stores for their own pair.
As reported by Buzz's Aunty Acid, the specialized underwear goes for $10 to $30 per pair. Many people argue that it is a bargain, compared to the prices of other lingerie items.
Daily Mail reported on the trend in 2017 and found that the underwear can be purchased online from Amazon as well.
The new trend is still a mystery to most people, especially when one considers the extent most women go to in hiding a camel toe.
Researchers postulate that the 'growing popularity' of these times coincide 'with the rise of so-called designer-vagina procedures.'
According to Daily Mail, surgery and laser treatment to shape and contour a woman's nether regions can cost anything between $600 and $5000.
With that in mind, a pair of underwear is undoubtedly a steal at $30, if you are so inclined to boast with a perfectly shaped camel toe.
The popularity of the surgery as also increased five-fold over the past decade. A reporter from Daily Mail's Femail division asked model Georgie from Norwich to share her thoughts.
'It doesn't feel alien. When you put them on it moves with the curve of your body more. I don't think they're for me personally, but each to their own.'
Georgia, Daily Mail, April 4, 2017.
The garment is made of cotton and lycra, with silicon padding to give the appearance of a camel toe. When it was originally marketed in Japan, the tagline promised that it would 'lift and separate.'
