Celine Dion shares sad news about her health issues after canceling her tour

The powerful singer canceled her Las Vegas concerts because she has been suffering an ear condition for several months now.

She has been battling an ear problem called Patulous Eustachian Tube for the last 12 to 18 months and it has made it “extremely difficult” for Celine to sing. Inquisitr has the details.

The 49-year-old is taking a three-week break from singing to take better care of herself. She is canceling a series of upcoming shows in Las Vegas to go through an important medical procedure.

The mother-of-three made the announcement on her Facebook page on Wednesday, March 21. The ones that are scheduled on March 27 until April 18 are the shows that will be canceled. Celine was very apologetic and sad.

“My luck hasn’t been very good lately…I’ve been so looking forward to doing my shows again and this happens…I just can’t believe it! I apologize to everyone who planned to travel to Las Vegas to see my show. I know how disappointing this is, and I’m so sorry.”

The disorder called Patulous Eustachian Tube is a disorder that targets her middle ear, which happens when the eustachian tube stays open most of the time. According to Genetics and Rare Diseases Information Center, the tube is responsible for regulating pressure around the eardrum.

Symptoms include hearing echoes and “wave-like sounds.” It also causes exhaustion and fatigue, and if left untreated, vertigo and even loss of hearing may occur. Celine has been relying on ear drops to treat it but it didn’t seem to work for her.

“During the past couple of weeks these medications have no longer been working to treat the condition, so she will undergo a minimally invasive surgical procedure to correct the problem.”

The fans who bought the tickets will be refunded and Celine is expected to resume her Vegas shows on May 22.
