Richard Gere reportedly married his Spanish girlfriend in a secret ceremony

The actor has reportedly found the quiet and happy life he's longed for in the arms of his much younger new wife after two failed marriages.

The third time’s the charm for Richard Gere who recently tied the knot with his Spanish girlfriend Alejandra Silva, now his third wife.

According to the latest report by Radar Online with details lifted from Hello! magazine’s account, the 68-year-old actor secretly wed Silva, 35, in early April in a civil ceremony. And to celebrate their union with friends and family, the couple reportedly plans to hold a post-wedding party on May 6.

This is Gere’s third marriage and Silva’s second. The ‘Pretty Woman’ star was first married to Cindy Crawford from 1991 to 1995. In 2002, he married actress Carey Lowell but they eventually ended their 14-year union in 2016 while sharing a son, Homer, now 17.

Meanwhile, his new wife was married to mining magnate Govind Friedland for three years until 2015. They have a 5-year-old son.

Fresh from their wedding, Silva and Gere gushed over each other to Hello! revealing how each gave meaning to the other’s life since they started dating in 2014. Silva confessed,

“I was a little lost, without light, and knowing him gave meaning to my life. It was feeling that someone was reaching out and showing me my true path.”

Gere, on his part felt that he finally found peace with his wife.

“I have found the quiet and happy life that I have always sought.”

The two are reportedly looking forward to becoming parents together now that they’re husband and wife.
