Oprah Winfrey is in trouble with the law as she has been reportedly sued for 'stealing' the idea for her Greenleaf series.

‘Greenleaf’ is a religious soap which centers on a Memphis mega-church run by a powerful family filled with scandals and secrets.

The famous show which now has an average of two million viewers per episode was said to have featured the same plot and cast as another person’s idea, Justice & Glory specifically.

The show’s screenwriter, Shannan Lynette Wynn, claims she and her pastor collaborator pitched the show to Oprah Winfrey’s OWN team sometime in 2014.

On hearing their ideas, the 64-year-old actress who is also the CEO of OWN was thrilled and gave them good feedback.

Oprah executive produces and has a recurring role as blues club owner Mavis McCready in the TV drama.

Aside from the two-time Oscar nominee, Greenleaf is executive produced by Emmy-nominated writer Craig Wright, who previously created FX's Tyrant, MTV's Underemployed, and ABC's Dirty Sexy Money.

Our source reported that documents have it that ‘they were lured by OWN for more ideas and versions of their pitch, but eventually got cut off.’

Only to see a TV show premiere some years later with the exact same characters and storylines from their original pitch.

Shannan Wynn is now demanding 'hundreds of thousands of dollars' in damages and also stated that ABC is probably an accomplice of the crime.

Shannan said that she as well unveiled the idea to ABC, whom she now believes was in 'partnership with Oprah' to rip her off her ideas and rights.

It is important to note that ABC showed no interest in their story as they were told.
