In the1980s, several sitcoms stole the years of their audiences, but one which would always remain in our hearts is Growing Pains.

The series which debuted in 1985 made a name as one of the best sitcoms of all times, and it couldn’t have been so without the stunning performance of Ashley Johnson as Chrissy Seaver.

A star, Ashley, was born on August 9, 1983, in Camarillo, California to a film producer mother and a ship captain father. Nine days after her birth, her family moved to the Detroit suburb of Franklin, Michigan and soon her life began.

Ashley shone brightly in her academics as she excelled and graduated high school at the age of 15.

With the help of her mother who was a film producer, it was easy for Ashley to navigate her way through Hollywood as she landed her first role as Chrissy Seaver on Growing Pains.

Even though she started her character as a toddler on the show, Ashley soon became the brightest star on the sitcom.

Johnson’s performance in Growing Pains opened several doors for her as she appeared on television series like Phenom, All American Girl and movies like Nine Months and anywhere but here.

She landed another major role when she played Mel Gibson’s daughter, Alex Marshall, in the hit film ‘What Women want’ in the year 2000. That same year she reprised her role Chrissy Seaver on Growing Pains movie.

Apart from acting, Ashley also tried her hands on voice acting, and she sure excelled at it too.

Currently, she plays FBI forensic specialist Patterson, on NBC’s drama series ‘Blindspot.’

She’s also a photographer and runs a photography company with her best friend and personal assistant Mika Sha.
