His first launch to stardom began when he auditioned for The Youth Ensemble of-of Atlanta, and he landed a role on CNN as an entertainment reporter for their ‘Real News for Kids’ segment. His review of 'Mighty Ducks’ set him apart and caught the attention of the movie’s director. He was later invited to play the role of Russ Tyler in D2: The Mighty Ducks in 1994, and two years after he reprised that role for D3: The Mighty Ducks.

Just after his little success on CNN, Kenan got something even bigger when Nickelodeon asked him to feature in their newest sketch comedy series titled ‘All That.’ Kenan performed brilliantly well as a regular on the show from the year 1994 to 1999 that he sooner landed the lead role in his sitcom Kenan & Kel, where he acted alongside Kel Mitchell.

With having his sitcom, that didn’t make Kenan rest his oars as he featured in several movies along the way, among which are, Heavyweights (1995), his hit film Good Burger (1997) and The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle.

In 2003, he and his Kenan & Kel co-star Kel Mitchell auditioned for NBC’s legendary comedy series Saturday Night Live. While Kel didn’t get called back, Kenan made the cut and became one of the featured players on the show.

Today, Kenan is still very involved in SNL, which he balances with his life as a father and husband. He’s also said to be the man with the most celebrity impressions on the show.
