'DWTS' fans react furiously to Tonya Harding still being on the show
The 47-year-old retired figure skater and DWTS contestant, Tonya Harding, is in the middle of the social media storm. Fans want to see her voted off the show.
The 26th season of the dance competition is underway, and showrunners announced in April 2018 that Harding would partake in the challenges with dance partner Sasha Farber by her side.
Good Morning America interviewed Harding alongside fellow contestant and figure skater, Adam Rippon. Harding hoped that the interview and her participation on DWST would show her in a new light.
As reported by ABC News, being included in season 26 is a dream come true of Harding, because she wanted the world to see that she could be a 'graceful lady' too.
She feels that people focus only on her rivalry with fellow figure skater Nancy Kerrigan, instead of trying to understand why she acts the way she does, or why she portrays herself as a 'hard person.'
"People understand who I am, why I act the way that I do, why I portray myself as this hard person just to protect myself, and the vulnerable side of me is what came out."

According to Pop Culture, Harding is one of the last remaining contestants on DWTS, alongside, Rippon, Chris Madzer, Mirai Nagasu and Josh Norman.
While she and Farber gave a flawless performance, fans of the reality talent show are not happy with her progress and want her to be voted off.
Twitter user Isabelle said the series was rigged because 'there is no way people like Tonya,' while Kayla Whittaker couldn't believe that Tonya is safe for another week.
With contestant Kareem Abdul-Jabbar voted off, a Twitter user known only as Emgaav expressed her discontent, asking if she could 'be outraged over Kareem going home but Tonya wasn't even in jeopardy?'
The third episode of Dancing With The Stars, titled Athletes: 2603, will air on May 14, 2018, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
