Being a star like Melissa McCarthy makes you a target for online trolls, but that doesn’t mean you have to be affected by their words as the actress reveals how she handles them.

In an interview, Melissa discussed how she handles online trolls and prevents them from getting to her.

Recently, Melissa received a ton of backlash from the online community for her remake of Ghostbusters in 2016. But instead of stooping low to engage in arguments with them, McCarthy took the high road.

She revealed that she has nothing but love for her haters.

In her words,

‘Weirdly, instead of getting mad at them, I always feel like ‘Oh, I hope you meet someone soon that you can talk to, someone that makes you laugh.’

The Identity Thief’ actor also stated that she looks up to men in her life that have made life better and not to Hollywood men who have questionable behaviors.

She believes that sitting at home alone and dwelling on the negative comments of haters don’t fix anything and hopes to pass the positive message to her young daughters.

The mother-of-two is currently promoting her latest film project titled ‘Life of the Party.’ In the movie, Melissa plays the role of a middle-aged mother who is abruptly divorced by her husband. She then follows the path of her daughter and goes to college to complete her degree.

McCarthy proved she is the life of the party as she showed off her dancing skills to singer Jennifer Lopez at Ellen DeGeneres 60th birthday bash.

Life of the party storms theaters on May 11. We can’t wait to see McCarthy’s performance.
