Her uniqueness in the genre comes from the fact that she mixes hip-hop and other genres with gospel to enchant different audiences that would not be interested in gospel in the first place. In her journey, Rubi has been working with Dammo Farmer, a renowned bass player, and producer who happens to be her husband.

They dated for four years before he proposed in 2012 by surprising Rubi with the help of her dad, Al Green. Farmer took the stage in the middle of his father-in-law concert and asked Rubi to join him before declaring his undying love and kneeling in front of a live audience to pop the question. She said yes, of course.

“The only inconsistency in love should be falling deeper. Love is an action word.”
