Robbers broke into Shakira and Gerard Piqué's home while his parents were sleeping upstairs
The famous couple, who have been together since 2011, was not at home at the time of the robbery.
Thieves broke into the house of the Colombian singer Shakira and his partner, the Spain international Gerard Pique.
The parents of the winner of the World Cup were sleeping on the top floor of the house in Barcelona when the theft occurred, Daily Mail reported.
The Colombian singer was performing in concert in Cologne, Germany, at the time of the robbery and Piqué had traveled to the city to attend the show.
The parents of the soccer player were unharmed and the police emphasized that the robbery was "nonviolent". Among the stolen items were Piqué luxury watches and various Shakira’s jewelry.
According to the Daily Mail, police reported that thieves took advantage of the storms that hit the area to enter the home.
They entered through a window and Piqué's parents allegedly did not hear anything and only noticed the theft when they woke up and alerted the police.
According to reports, Shakira and Piqué were immediately informed of what happened and the Mossos d'Esquadra will take their statements.
A spokesman for the investigation told that the thieves had no knowledge of who owned the property and only chose the place for his luxury.
Forensic officers continue to search for clues that allow those responsible to be discovered. So far no arrests have been made.
