'Bravo' star reveals husband's cancer diagnosis

NeNe Leakes shared her husband Gregg's cancer diagnosis with fans

NeNe Leakes, 50, best known for starring in the reality show The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and for her role on the Fox hit sitcom Glee, shared a photo on Instagram on the 13th of June of her husband Gregg at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

In the photo, Gregg is wearing jeans and a printed shirt and sitting next to a computer which shows the word "cancer" crossed out on the monitor. Leakes captioned the photo: "Our New Normal and the fight begins #cancer."

Gregg is now undergoing treatment for cancer, but his health has been precarious for several months. In November 2017 NeNe revealed that Gregg suffered from heart problems, and had undergone several tests to determine if there was a blockage in his coronary arteries.

NeNe canceled a series of public appearances, and shows, and explained to fans that it would be impossible to smile and laugh when her husband is so ill.

"Today marks the 15th day straight that Gregg has been in the hospital, I find it very difficult to stand on stage and laugh and have a good time (***) knowing that my husband's in the hospital not feeling well."

In May, Gregg spent 16 days in the hospital, but was released and was welcomed home by his wife and their two sons, Bryson and Brentt.

Gregg is a real estate investor and consultant, and he and NeNe met in the 90s and married in 1997. In 2010 the couple separated and divorced in 2011.

In 2012 the couple started dating again, and in January 2013 they announced their engagement. NeNe and Gregg remarried in June 2013. NeNe refers to her husband of 20 years as "my rock, my best friend."
