Michael J. Fox is officially the most popular Canadian amongst Americans
A survey lists the most popular Canadians in the United Staes.
Canada and the United States are friendly neighbors, and many of Hollywood's brightest stars are Canadian, reported Today.com.
A Government survey ranked the 25 Canadians most popular among Americans. Number one on the list is Michael J. Fox, with 73% of the votes going to the actor who starred in the Back To The Future trilogy.
Second on the list is Keanu Reeves with 67%, Dan Aykroyd with 63%, and Jim Carrey with 62%. The only two Canadian women made it onto the list are singers Celine Dion with 58%, and Shania Twain with 56%.
When it comes to recognition of Canadian citizens - though not necessarily the most well-liked - the winners are Justin Bieber and Jim Carrey with 97% recognition; second in line are Pamela Anderson and Celine Dion, and third place goes to Fox.
An overwhelming number of successful male actors seem to be Canadians, among them Keanu Reaves, William Shatner, Leslie Nielsen. Ryan Gosling and Ryan Reynolds; but Fox once again comes out on top of the poll.

Michael J. Fox was born in Canada in 1961 and moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career, landing the part of Alex P. Keaton on the sitcom 'Family Ties' in 1982.
The series was originally centered on the adult 'hippy' parents, but Fox's performance 'stole' the protagonism of the show for his character, Alex Keaton.
Fox made the difficult transition to the big screen with the wildly successful 'Back to the Future' franchise, and in 90s he returned to sitcoms with Spin City.
Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1999 and left the series to launch the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
He has since guest-starred on shows such as Scrubs, Boston Legal, and The Good Wife.
