Al Roker and Deborah Roberts steal hearts with picture of their son at summer camp

Today’s weather anchor Al Roker and his wife Deborah Roberts took to Instagram to share photos of the couple’s only son, Nicholas Albert, heading off to summer camp.

The image shared by Deborah showed her wearing an orange shirt, denim shorts, and a hat while hugging Nicholas, who put on red shorts and a grey shirt. In the caption, the proud mother wrote ‘summer camp drop off,’ followed by a crying face emoji.

As soon as she uploaded that photo, her fans and followers took to the comment section to share their thoughts.

One of them was Instagram user Deborah Beasley, who admitted that it was hard to say goodbye. The user added that Nicholas would miss his mother as much as she would miss him.

@trisha6482 chimed in and said that the photo was sweet and that Nicholas would have fun summer memories. Debora was not the only member of the family who uploaded a photo as Al did the same.

His post had four different images portraying Nicholas at the summer camp already. The first one showed Al and his son posing for the camera side-by-side while flashing their big smiles.

In the second picture, the duo was next to the bed where Nicholas would sleep for the entire month he would be at the camp. The last image was a selfie taken by the host in which it was evident how tall Nicholas was.

That aspect was noticed by Al’s followers, including Matt Huber, who pointed out that it was great that Nicholas was much taller than his father. Deborah told People that Nicholas was dealing with some developmental delays when he was younger.

As he was growing old, the couple wondered if he would be able to walk and to speak properly. Thankfully, Nicholas was running and talking more than Deborah thought he would ever do.
