On Tuesday, July 10, 2018, the famous musician used her Instagram account to let everyone know that Tom, who is currently 70 years old, has been submitted to a quadruple bypass surgery.

Through the social media platform, Marie has requested her fans and followers to keep her 'sweet brother,' who is on life support, in their prayers.

The 58-year-old described her brother as being 'full of life and love,' and that he had always looked up to him due to his 'Christ-like heart.' The songstress also praised his ability to warm people's hearts through his smile and hugs.

"He has such great love for all people, including strangers. His heart is so tender that at times, I swear, it even breaks when he sees others struggling."

Marie went on to say that having been born deaf, and due to several heartbreaking challenges that he had to overcome throughout his life, Tom developed a great sense of compassion and 'personal understanding' that helped him comfort others.

But Marie wasn't the only member of the Osmond family who honored Tom. His brother, Alan, used his Twitter to honor him, and his brother, Donny, took to his Instagram to share a little insight on who Tom was as a person.

According to Donny, it isn't certain what the future holds, but the singer believes that whatever comes their way, it will be God's work and they will have to accept it.

Tom, whose older brother Virl is also deaf, used to step on stage with his brother and sister back in the 70s and 80s family specials. He now lives a quiet life with his wife, Carolyn, whom he wed in 1989, and their four children, two of them from her previous marriage.
