Det. Supt. Paul Barton, from the Hampshire Police, said that McHugh's death was a tragic incident and that the thoughts of everyone in the force went to the victim's family and friends.
At the time of the teen's disappearance, White used her Facebook account to post an appeal for help along with a description of her daughter, as well as other details
It said that McHugh had left the house wearing blue jeans, a black jacket with white sleeves and a gray or green top, plus an easily identifiable blue digital watch.
Upon learning that her daughter had been found, White went back on Facebook to deliver the sad and terrible news, as well as share a GoFundMe page created to help cover the costs of her daughter's funeral.
