Well, at least it was pretty black lace! Buttons have their own agenda as we all know!— Yolanda Quimby (@PeachezQ) August 7, 2018
Who hasn't had a wardrobe malfunction or two on their lives! 😉😊
Despite the media frenzy caused by one undone button, etiquette expert Myka Meier told People that Meghan didn't break Royal protocol. She explained:
Accidents or wardrobe malfunctions are not considered going against dress code rules.
She added that Meghan didn't show a "blatant disregard" for Royal protocol because she buttoned up again immediately once she realized what happened, but Twitter users disagree.
Meghan stepped out in dark-colour like someone attending a funeral, and did she deliberately flaunt her bra for the camera?. The bride,27, and groom, 30, look young and cute, but Meghan stole the show with her deliberate wardrobe malfunction.- https://t.co/4y2yDG3csw— Joy Musa (@Joywesey) August 4, 2018
A user known as Joy Musa criticized Meghan for wearing black, "like someone attending a funeral," and added that she "deliberately [flaunted] her bra for the camera."
Musa also said that Meghan "stole the show" with the wardrobe malfunction, diverting the attention away from the 27-year-old bride and 30-year-old groom.
I see London, I see France, I see Meghan's ...well, not underpants but just as embarrassing a moment. I suppose the good news is that she did wear a lovely lace bra. pic.twitter.com/edNevO0Kly— Lady Darlene Jones Foster (@fdarlene491) August 5, 2018
In Meghan's defense, Darlene Foster wrote that she wore a lovely bra, at least, while Stylist Magazine reminded their readers that yes, just like millions of women from across the globe, Meghan also wears a bra.
Meghan isn't the only Royal prone to a wardrobe malfunction every now and then. The Duchess of Cambridge battled a strong gust of wind while visiting India two years ago.
It has since been dubbed as her Monroe moment. Read more about the duchess's controversial outfits here.
