Dog & Beth are no longer bounty hunters – things have drastically changed

“Bounty Hunters” Duane 'Dog' Chapman and Beth Smith have announced that they will be leaving their long-time bounty hunting business after Beth was diagnosed with throat cancer.

Beth was diagnosed with throat cancer in September 2017 and had to undergo surgery to have the tumor removed from her neck.

Chapman had said that even though his wife had gone through dark periods in her life, she came close to facing death for the first time when she was diagnosed.

Beth shared an emotional email with her friends in September 2017 after her diagnosis, which opened up about her cancer diagnosis.

“After months of a nagging cough, a routine check-up resulted in a diagnosis of Stage 2 throat cancer. I have what is referred to as a T2 Tumor in my throat that is blocking my breathing,” Beth said.

The Daily Mail reported that her doctors suggested immediate treatment and surgery before the disease spread.

She had also shared that she would never make herself the victim and fight cancer and not let it beat her.

Beth also shared that she was given a 50/50 chance of surviving her stage 2 throat cancer, on the couple's TV show, “Dog and Beth: The Fight of Their Lives.:

She underwent a 12-hour long surgery in September 2017, to have the cancer removed, according to The Blast.

She opened up about wanting a lifestyle change especially after the traumatic experience the family went through during her fight with cancer.

Beth shared that she was scared for her husband's safety since he worked in the law enforcement.

She said that people think they are jailed because they are poor and not because they broke the law and it might result in her husband getting killed.

Chapman explained that he would like to remain in the law enforcement. He said that he hoped that his work as a bounty hunter had benefited people and make them happy.

He said that he would want to continue to do something for the law enforcement and was thankful that his wife survived.
