In his speech, Cowell said that fame is "the best thing in the world" and jokingly asked why it took so long to get his star.
He credited Silverman as his rock and thanked her for putting up with him over the years. He also thanked his friends who flew in for the momentous occasion.
Cowell wondered which one of his parents would have "have a bigger kick out of this," adding that they were probably looking down at him on the day.
The music mogul wore a plain white shirt and with blue trousers, while Adam and Eric wore matching white shirts as well.
The 39-year-old Silverman looked elegant in a white dress. She completed her outfit with matching shoes, a clutch bag, and earrings.
Cowell has been dating Silverman for the past five years, and the duo welcomed Eric back inFebruary 2014. Fans have already noticed that Eric is a mini-version of his famous father.
In an interview earlier late last year, the proud father said that Eric had made him "soft," and that he loves reading to the toddler.
