Bindi Irwin shares a heartrending tribute to her deceased father, Steve
On the 4th of September 2006, naturalist and celebrity documentary maker Steve Irwin, 44, died tragically while filming his series "Ocean's Deadliest".
Twelve years later, his daughter Bindi posted a touching tribute to her father on the anniversary of his death on her Instagram account.
Irwin was killed by a stingray during a diving expedition off the coast of Australia, and at the time of her father's death, Bindi was just 8 years old.
“We try to continue dad’s legacy each and every day. I’m going to get a little bit emotional because it’s such a special day.”

The family's last photo together
Bindi, who is following in her father's footsteps through her work in conservation work, shared family photo depicting her mother Terri, brother Robert, and her father, who is holding her in his arms.
This was one of the last photos the family was to take together, before Irwin's untimely death.

Her mother, Terri Irwin opened up about her husband's death and the terrible shock when they got the unexpected news.
She believes that no matter what the circumstances, no-one is ever prepared to face the death of a loved one or to deal with that loss.
