Simon Cowell holds his breath as girl sings first words and a bit later jumps out of his chair
This year’s auditions have delivered some outstanding talent, and during the third audition round, Georgia Burgess set the bar high as she stunned the judges and audience with her amazing performance.
It’s the third audition week of this year’s X Factor UK and in front of over 4,000 people, Georgia Burgess stepped on stage at the Wembley arena for her chance to impress the judges.
HOW GEORGIA’S AUDITION WENT
Before she begins her audition the judges greet and after being asked some usual questions she states confidently:
“I want to win The X Factor. I’d like to think I could. I’ll do my best.”
20-year-old Georgia Burgess works in temporary recruitment in Birmingham, England and is of the opinion that an X Factor UK winner needs talent, guts, determination and a good work ethic.

Hopeful to impress the judges she readied herself for the audition and the music started playing. It immediately grabbed the attention of the judges when they heard the familiar intro from a song by the Jackson 5, ‘Who’s Loving You.’
Her voice blew away the judges, especially Simon Cowell who slowly blinked in astonishment after hearing only a few notes, and her performance enthralled the audience.
As she ended her performance all four judges stood up and gave her a standing ovation, followed by the audience, the surprise and shock displayed across her face at the response to her audition. Needless to say, she received four yeses from the judges.
MUCH MORE TO GEORGIA
Georgia trained musically at BOA (Sister School to The BRIT School) and might be 20 years old but she already has an impressive resume. During the last 3 years, she has been supporting artist to the likes of Ed Sheeran, Olly Murs, Clean Bandit, Little Mix, Dua Lipa, The Vamps, Labrinth, Ella Eyre, and Jess Glynne.
Other performances included Live appearances at Free Radio Events and being the headline singer at ‘Miss. England’ events across the country.
Perhaps a little less known is her black belt in karate and has previously represented the UK in elite competition. Seems she can pack a punch and not only with her voice.
X-Factor has seen its share of outstanding talent through the years, but it's rarely that renowned judge Simon Cowell breaks down in tears during auditions. During auditions in 2015 of X-Factor, the last contestant for the day came on stage, Josh Daniels.
The 21-year old from Billingham announced his audition song 'Jealous' by Labrinth and explained his reason for choosing the song after being asked by Simon. His best friend passed away two years prior, and it was dedicated to him. Josh started singing and captivated the audience from the first notes.
Halfway through the song, Simon had his hands up against his face trying to hide the flowing tears, deeply moved by his rendition of the song 'Jealous'. After finishing his performance the audience gave him a standing ovation while the judges remained speechless for a short while before sending him through to the next round.
