Sam Ramker, stepfather of Lauren Alaina spent his last moments with his family after which she shared his amazing last words to her.
ACM Award-winner, and CMA Award nominee Lauren Alaina shared the passing of her stepfather’s after his battle with cancer on Instagram on Sunday, October 21, 2018, by posting a picture of herself holding her ACM Award for New Female Vocalist while standing next to Sam, fiancee Alex and mum Kristy as they all beamed with pride and joy.
She captioned the news by stating that he drew his last breath at 1 am and added:
“He was the purest example of how to love and live life fully.”
Aliana went on to thank her fans for their support after she first shared his battle with cancer in June 2018. Sam’s family started a GoFundMe page after his Stage IV Melanoma got confirmed to raise money for his radiation treatment and raised almost $20,000 over the course of six months.

In July Lauren wrote on Instagram:
“To the families and people who have been affected by this horrible disease or any disease, my family has felt the pain you’ve felt for the last four months. We are praying for you. We love you, and we are so thankful for all the love coming our way.”
During Sam’s last moments with his family, he opened his eyes, looking more clear that they have recently seen, and Lauren recounts what followed:
“His last few hours were some of the most amazing moments I know I will ever have the privilege of witnessing. He opened his eyes last night. They shined the brightest I’ve ever seen anyone’s eyes shine, and he said, ‘Jesus,’” she posted.” “He later said, ‘I love you all. I found it.’ My mom asked him what he found and he said, ‘Heaven. I’ve got to go.’”
During the ACM Awards, of which Lauren shared the picture of her and her family happily together, she also shared a breathtaking duet with longtime friend Kane Brown.
The chemistry during their performance was so intense that fans wondered if the two were really in relationships with other people. Their performance of the song mere weeks after the song topped the Billboard charts.
Lauren is currently on a tour but had canceled a few appearances because of the family’s medical emergency. Her performances in Texas, at the Smart Financial Center on October 19, followed by the next night's performance in at the White Water Amphitheater got canceled.
She was also absent from the 2018 CMT Artists of the Year ceremony in Nashville on October 17. Fans look forward to seeing more of her while on tour with Cole Swindell’s ‘Reason to Drink Another....Tour.’
