American actress Hilary Duff gives birth to her second child with an adorable name
Actress Hilary Duff announced on Monday via Instagram that she and boyfriend Matthew Koma welcomed their first child together last Thursday. She posted a cute image of the family of three.
In the caption of the post, the actress revealed her baby girl’s name. One of the little girl’s names is the name of a type of flower.
On Instagram, Hilary Duff, 31, captioned her image:
“Banks Violet Bair this little bit has fully stolen our hearts! She joined our world at home on Thursday afternoon and is absolute magic.”
This is the second child for the actress. She also has a son, Luca Cruz Comrie, 6½, with ex-husband Mike Comrie.

In June, the actress shared the news that she was expecting. In the same month, on Mother’s Day, Duff shared a video from her gender reveal.
In the clip, family and friends pulled cannons that exploded with pink smoke and confetti. Before Banks was born, Duff teased fans with the first initial of her daughter’s name.
At the time she wrote on Instagram, “Baby B is growing … growing is nice with you.” Later on, she explained that “B” was a clue and not just a reference to Koma’s given last name, Bair.
She shared that the name was “unique but it’s not too weird.” Duff added:
“The name that we first thought we were gonna use is going to be her middle name, so we’re like, ‘Let’s not stress over this anymore.’”
Banks’ older brother Luca also had some thoughts about what to name his little sister. In June, Duff spoke to James Corden about her son’s preferred name for her daughter.
She said:
"Luca thinks Cofant Croissant is, like, the coolest name.”
The little boy didn’t just stop there:
"He told his friend at school the other day that he's having a sister that's part red-butt monkey.”
Luckily, Banks' parents didn’t heed his suggestion nor did his dream manifest.
In previous posts, the actress shared how she couldn’t wait to meet her baby. In an Instagram Story on October 23, the star wrote, “Yo … your hotel stay is up little girl.”
On August 16 she joked, “Hurry it on up [expletive].” In mid-September, she shared in an interview that she was “a little over it” in regards to pregnancy and ready for her daughter to arrive.
Despite welcoming their first child together, Duff and Koma are in "no rush to get married." An insider explained, "They already feel married and don't feel they need a signed document to seal the deal."
However, the new parents do "eventually" want to get married, but for the time being, they’re happy as they are.
When Duff was just 27, she opened up about her divorce, monogamy, and losing her virginity. She’d just separated from her husband of three years, hockey professional Comrie.
