The event took place at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., on December 2, 2018, but it was only aired on Wednesday, December 26.

As can be seen in a short video of Clarkson's performance, McEntire was proud to see her daughter-in-law perform her own song, 'Fancy."

Wearing a red dress and a pair of beautiful earrings, Clarkson took the stage to perform in front of the crowd and managed to hit all the right notes.

But that was only one of the highlights of the night; being one of this year's honorees, McEntire was also presented with a beautiful speech by Clarkson.

CLARKSON'S CHILDHOOD HERO

The "American Idol" winner claimed that she had always been a fan of McEntire, and that 'her voice always felt nostalgic.'

So, as a longtime fan, it was an honor for Clarkson to meet McEntire and become friends with her, as well as being a part of her family after marrying Brandon Blackstock.

A LOVELY FRIENDSHIP

"Thank you so much, Reba, for listening to me vent as an artist. Thank you so much for comforting me on the phone through my tears like a friend and thank you for being a really rad grandma for my kids."

ONE OF SEVERAL MEMORABLE PERFORMANCES

According to the 36-year-old singer, McEntire is a 'sweetheart' and someone who is always willing to go out of her way to help those in need.

The two artists had the opportunity to share the stage during the American Country Music Awards and performed "Does He Love You," a song that was originally sung by McEntire and Linda Davis.

The sweet moment was received with a massive round of applause and both shared wide and bright smiles at the end of their performance, revealing the beaming chemistry between them.
