Kelly Clarkson jokes about holiday weight gain and fans relate to her in the comments
Kelly Clarkson has attested to gaining weight over the festive period as she took to Twitter on Saturday stating:
“To the person that lost weight over the holidays, don't worry, I found it, and I will get it back to you starting January 1st.”
The singer posted the message with three funny emojis and the hashtag ‘tight pants’ and ‘but so worth it.' Although the post was on a light mood, it attracted relatable responses from fans; most of which were admirable. Mind you, this is not the first time Kelly is cracking jokes about her weight.
“I stepped on the scale this morning, and it said ‘call 9-1-1’. Heaviest I've ever been…” - A fan jovially related.
“You are gorgeous no matter what number is on that scale #BeYOUtiful” - another fan sweetly replied.
Kelly has shown that she has no aversion when it comes to indulging in holiday treats. The ‘The Voice’ coach is not newly acquainted to weight-gain; and has had different experiences with it over the years.
Right from 2002 when Clarkson emerged as the winner of the first American Idol competition, she has had her weight-gain phenomenon. But before then, she's had her fair share of life; broke with nothing to her name.
During the race, being young and slim didn't save her from being criticized or shamed for being more prominent than other women on the show. Kelly had once acknowledged that she briefly struggled with bulimia in high school - was insecure and even claimed to have lost roles in school plays and opportunities to sing because of her weight.
Despite all the negativity surrounding her body mass, the 36-year old country music artiste upholds a pleasant demeanor; this labels Clarkson as one who is comfortable in her skin. She 's always pointed out that she's happy with her body no matter what size it is. Also, indicating that any weight loss symbolizes hard times and stress; and she's happiest with her plumper self.
The “piece by piece” crooner has scored a total of over 100 number ones on the Billboard charts. Her accolades include three Grammy awards; three MTV video awards; four American music awards and two Academy of Country Music Awards.
In her Saturday post, Kelly seemingly admitted that she had no regrets but vowed to get back in shape after the New Year celebrations.
Her positive outlook is a forte for fans and critics alike, as she weathers through it all.
