Phaedra Parks' ex-husband Apollo Nida poses with fiancée in jail after she was called a homewrecker
Apollo Nida's fiance sparks new controversy after a throwback post of their engagement photo. Fans are skeptical their relationship won't make it after Nida is released from prison and she fires back.
A new post of an old photo of incarcerated celebrity Apollo Nida and his fiancé Sherien Almufti has emerged on the latter’s social media feed sparking fresh controversy surrounding their relationship.
THEIR LOVE STORY
It’s no secret Almufti and Nida have been engaged since 2016 after two years of dating. Nida had yet to serve his eight-year-prison sentence when they first hooked up. In fact, he was believed to have still been married to Phaedra Parks when Almufti came into the picture, sparking outrage among fans who slammed the relationship upon learning of Nida’s infidelity.
CONFIRMING THEIR ENGAGEMENT
In November 2016, the couple posed for commemorative engagement photos while Nida served time in prison for financial fraud. The photo did not include the paper towel ring Nida used to seal their commitment. However, it was a confirmation of the pair’s seriousness in tying the knot once Nida is released from prison in 2020.
FUTURE MRS NIDA SENDS A REMINDER
That same photo recently graced Almufti’s feed as she bid her followers a “Happy Tuesday!!” There was not much said in her caption aside from this and the hashtags “#sapphire” and “#mrsnida.”
Almufti must be posting a reminder to herself and others that she is still very much engaged. Besides, she already picked out a wedding dress when she appeared on “Say Yes To The Dress: Atlanta” last year so there has to be a wedding sometime in the future.
BACKLASH FROM FANS
However, this isn’t what fans are seeing. Her post received a lot of negativity from many who warned her about prison hookups. Some suggested she watch “Love After Lockup” so she could learn a thing or two about what happens after.
“Girl you better watch Love After Lock Up [sic] it usually don’t work once they get out.”
HER RESPONSE
But Almufti refused to allow haters to spoil her happiness and clapped back.
“It usually don’t work when you meet at the club or church too…. foh #negativenancy.”
Here’s hoping Almufti and Nida prove others wrong and make it to 2020 as planned.
