Snoop Dogg & his wife of 21 years look crazy in love while singing together in recent video
Snoop Dogg and his wife of over two decades continue to prove that they are “Black Love Goals” as they sing together in a recent heartwarming video.
Shante Broadus took to Instagram some days ago with a loved-up video of she and Snoop. The couple appeared to be in a moving vehicle and looked quit laid-back with colorful leis around their necks.
The “What’s My Name” rapper and his wife sang along to “Why I Love You So Much” by Monica Brown, and it was pure joy to watch their chemistry despite being married for 21 years and sharing three kids.
"BLACK LOVE" GOALS
Two months ago, Shante and Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr, gave off major Crazy-In-Love vibes when the former “Death Row” artist was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Snoop was all about the PDA as he planted a kiss on Shante’s cheek, and the latter also came prepared to support her man in a black blazer embossed with stars.
Shante and Snoop have for so long been considered as one of the shining examples of love and marriage in Hollywood, but that honor did not come because their union has been a smooth ride.
They fit the bill because, despite all they’ve been through, the two are still a unit.
A ROCKY PAST
The “Gin and Juice” hitmaker met his wife in high school, and they have been dating since then. She was with him long before he found fame and amassed a multi-million dollar net worth.
The couple welcomed their first child, son Corde in 1994 and four months after welcoming their second child, son Cordell in 1997, they tied the knot. Shante and Snoop exchanged their vows on June 14, 1997, at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Marina del Rey.
They welcomed their last child, a girl named Cori, in 1999, but by 2004, Snoop was filing for divorce from his wife.
GETTING BACK TOGETHER
The rapper later realized his error and went back home to his family, blaming the music industry for distracting him.
He told MTV at the time:
“God is good… I understand that I need my wife and my kids in my life. So, I threw the papers away. I don’t want to get a divorce. So if you hear about a divorce, it’ll be my wife divorcing me; it won’t be me divorcing her.”
HAPPILY EVER AFTER
Snoop also admitted in 2008 -- the year they renewed their vows -- that he had to do “a whole lot of begging and pleading” to get his wife back.
“It was up to me to try to put it back together because I’m the one who said I didn’t want to be a part of it no more,” confessed the multi-award-winning artist.
Since then, Shante and Snoop have been two peas in a pod and continue to remind us that love always wins.
