The song was also included on the soundtrack of the "Nutcracker and the Four Realms," and their moving performance brought them a standing ovation from the crowd.

The festival was also broadcasted on Rai, an Italian state broadcasting service, where the clip was watched by more than 10 million viewers.

One moment in particular that tugged at the fans' heartstrings was when Bocelli wrapped his arm around Matteo during their performance.

During 2018, he also appeared in the documentary "Silent Night – A Song for the World," and the TV movie "The Wonderful World of Disney."

After the show, Matteo took to Twitter, where he shared photos from the evening and thanked Sanremo Rai for giving them the opportunity to perform.

Fabiola Artavia thanked the duo for an "incredible performance," while another netizen added:

"Last night you were wonderful when your dad handed you the vest, and then you intoned @FallOnMe the tears came down inevitably!"
