Kandi Burruss burst into tears while talking about renewed friendship with Tamar Braxton

Kandi Burruss and Tamar Braxton have buried the hatchet making it an even sweeter win for Tamar who took home the top prize in "Celebrity Big Brother." Kandi cried as she spoke about their reconciliation on the show while Tamar said it was bound to happen because "we both wanted it."

In the midst of Tamar Braxton’s recent win on “Celebrity Big Brother,” her former frenemy and housemate Kandi Burruss had tears in her eyes when she spoke about their renewed relationship.

Speaking to "Celebrity Big Brother" host, Julie Chen, Kandi couldn’t help but tear up when she was asked about her relationship with Tamar on the show.

“Oh my God, like, I don’t know, we needed this! We really did.”

Kandi’s voice began to crack as she lamented on how her friendship with Tamar had evolved.

“I didn’t even realize we’ve known each other for twenty years. But we’ve never been like this,” she explains while clasping her hands together to demonstrate how close she and Tamar have become now.

“That’s crazy to know somebody that long and you can’t really depend on each other.”

THEIR FEUD

Kandi recalled how she dreaded the first week of the show saying “this is about to be terrible” when she realized she and Tamar were going to be together. But she was grateful that they ended up supporting each other.

Things weren’t rosy between them in the beginning. In fact, during the show’s premiere, Tamar opened up about their feud which she said stemmed from the tour she did with Kandi and her group Xscape last year. Tamar revealed Kandi never really liked her then.

Meanwhile, Kandi turned the tables on Tamar when she countered by saying it was she who asked people to speak negatively about her. She also claimed Tamar unfollowed her on Instagram after she appeared on "The Real," Tamar’s former show.

When they finally attempted to iron out their issues on the show, things didn’t go as planned. However, as the three-week show progressed, so did their relationship. They managed to put the past behind them and forge a genuine friendship.

TAMAR'S REACTION TO THEIR RECONCILIATION

During her post-win interview with Entertainment Weekly, Tamar said they renewed their friendship “because we both wanted it.”

“We wanted to make amends more than we wanted to fight and that’s for the both of us. I just think that’s a testament to life. When you want to get along, when you want to do something, and it’s another person involved, they’ve got to want it too.”

Kudos to these two women who showed the world what forgiveness is all about.
