The pair have been in good terms over the years and have a formidable closeness which they have also shared with their families.
Earlier this month, Andy welcomed a newborn baby into his family and his friend, CNN's Anderson Cooper, was one of the first people to rejoice with him and meet the bundle of joy.

Andy introduced his son to "uncle Anderson" who came to see the baby and share some bonding time with the little boy.
He took a sweet shot of his little child in the company of Anderson, and he gladly posted this on his Instagram handle with the caption "Uncle Anderson got an exclusive."
With overwhelming joy, Anderson also shared the same photo on his own Instagram profile with the caption:
"I could stare at @bravoandy’s son all day long. And i sort of want to be swaddled too. photo by @bravoandy."
This lovely moment could not go unnoticed as many people responded with loads of kind words and show of much love.
One user, @nic_oley_b responded to the photo with the statement "I’m so so happy about this all ❤️"
Another user @mzzwells_8 was quick to notice the fixed gaze of Andy's son on the face of "uncle Anderson" and thus wrote,
"It appears he could stare at you all day long too...the look of love, oh my heart!"
Seeing how easy Anderson felt around Andy's son, one would think he will be very anxious to have one of his own. This is however not the case.
A few years ago in an interview, Anderson was asked about plans to have kids, and his response was not what fans expected.
Though he attested to enjoying the company of kids mostly his nephews and nieces, he doubts if he could have kids because he is absorbed by work.
In other news related to Anderson, he joined the world to celebrate the 95th birthday of his famous mom, Gloria Vanderbilt.
