Chris Stapleton Breathes New Life into Major Waylon Jennings' Song and His Singing Is Pure Magic

Previously unknown artist, Chris, gains fame with his cover of Iconic hit song which he wrote in honor of Waylon Jennings.

Chris Stapleton, a 40-year-old songwriter, singer and guitarist who was practically unheard of has shot himself to fame after his astonishing performance at the 2015 Country Music Association Awards.

The award night was a special one because notable country music icons gathered to honor a legend of country music; Waylon Arnold Jennings.

Country Music legends, Willie Nelson, Willy Toby Keith, and Kacey Musgraves all gave beautiful performances, but the high point of the show was Justin Timberlake and Stapleton’s performance. The two stole the show with an electrifying performance of Chris’ cover of Waylon Jennings charts topping hit song “I Ain’t Living Long Like This,” which he sang way back in the '70s.

After the performance, Chris surely caught the eye of many and then he stamped his name into people’s hearts after releasing his cover for the song.

The song was originally recorded by Emmylou Harris, Jennings made his cover for the song in 1979 months after the original release, his cover became an instant success and people's favorite since then.

Although some other notable artists have made covers for the song, none got attention like Jennings' version.

This is not the case anymore, because Chris’ cover has injected freshness into the song and has become a household name in the country music world. It can be said that his cover which was done in honor of Jennings has given him what most artists in his previous position would probably give anything to get.

Meanwhile, it’s not only Chris Stapleton who seems to have caught the public’s eye.

Lukas sang his father’s hit song “Always on my mind,” and he did it beautifully. It turns out Lukas has been in the music world for quite some time. A lot of people are not aware that the music legend’s son is part of a singing group with the name “Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real.”

The group has over a hundred thousand fans on their Facebook page; they tour the country frequently giving outstanding performances of their Rock music genre.
