Alex Trebek Receives Messages of Support from Celebrities after Sharing Cancer Diagnosis

On Wednesday, television host Alex Trebek shared a video message where he revealed that he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Despite the grim diagnosis, the star vowed to continue fighting.

Hearing about the news, his colleagues and other stars took to social media to offer their support and wish him well.

“Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek, 78, has received support from fellow celebrities after revealing that he had pancreatic cancer. On Twitter, comedian Ken Jeong posted Trebek’s message and shared his own thoughts.

Jeong wrote, “Sending all my love, thoughts and prayers to Alex Trebek. You are my hero.” The host of “Wheel of Fortune,” Pat Sajak released a statement from his family.

He wrote:

“The Sajak family is deeply saddened to hear of Alex Trebek’s struggle with cancer. Our hearts go out to him and his family. But there is no one I know who is stronger and more determined, and I would never bet against him. We, and the entire country, are pulling for you, Alex.”

Dr. Phil added that the television host was “one strong guy.” He continued by saying that he believed Trebek would battle and beat cancer.

Chris Harrison wished him “God's speed.” While Sony Pictures Television Chairman Mike Hopkins shared that the showrunners fully supported the star.

Hopkins is responsible for “Jeopardy!” He also added, “If anyone can beat this it’s Alex. He has our full support as he tackles this challenge head-on.”

Other stars who also reached out to Trebek were Ken Jennings, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Dane Cook, Ike Barinholtz, and many more. The television host’s fans shared their favorite memories of him in support.

Actor Josh Jordan posted a hilarious video of the host rapping on an episode of “Jeopardy!” Currently, pancreatic cancer has a five-year survival rate of nine percent.

Trebek asked everyone to help him beat the disease and joked that he was also contractually obligated to host “Jeopardy!” for at least three more years. He’s hosted the game show since 1984, the year it began airing daily.

Despite the diagnosis, Trebek planned on completing the current season of “Jeopardy!" He has bravely revealed that he intended to continue working on the show.
