Jennifer Lopez's Fans React Dramatically to Her Huge Diamond Engagement Ring

The long-awaited news of Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodríguez’s engagement were finally a reality, and social media reacted massively to the announcement and the impressive diamond ring that accompanied it.

On Saturday, March 9, former Yankees star Alex Rodriguez, 43, made the sensational announcement through his Instagram account, where he posted a close-up picture of their hands and his future wife’s engagement ring.

“She said yes,” Rodriguez captioned the image, and the Internet erupted with comments about the huge diamond adorning the singer’s hand in a paradisiac sandy background.

“@AROD and @JLo just got engaged and all I can think about is that I hope my girlfriend doesn’t see the size of this ring,” joked Twitter user Matt Paré, re-posting the image of the fancy ring.

“I have found my dream engagement ring: @jlo! Man, that's huge and beautiful!” wrote Stacey Hobbs.

“So Jlo really just became Thanos w her new engagement ring... is anyone else scared?” added another user in reference to the Marvel cinematic universe villain and his omnipotent Infinity Gems.

As many of her fans know, this would be Lopez’s fourth marriage, and the ring she received from her boyfriend of more than two years is the fifth she has worn.

“A-Rod went with a very classic emerald-cut diamond which accentuates Jennifer’s fingers with its elongated shape. The diamond looks to be around 15 carats and is colorless with the highest clarity.”

“What’s crazy is even 1/16 of @JLo engagement ring would pay off my medical bills & student loans. Crazy how someone can just wear a ring that would pay all of my bills/loans plus some. Sooooo jealous,” a user pointed out.

“JLO wants to make sure her arms stay ripped so she asked Arod to get her a 5lb dumbbell for an engagement ring” someone else joked. “Jlo’s engagement ring is bigger than me” another woman complained.

Rodriguez surprised his wife-to-be with the proposal in the middle of a romantic weekend getaway, and before dropping the bombshell news the pair shared several pictures of their relaxing time together.

One of the first questions the ever-curious fans made to themselves after learning about the now famous engagement ring was how much it was worth.

Us Weekly talked to Brandon Hill of Steve Quick Jeweler in Chicago, and the jewelry expert estimated the piece to be worth around $1.4 million.
