PREGNANT MOTHER AND SON KILLED IN ATLANTA
The Police were called out on a domestic disturbance on Thursday morning in Stockbridge and were greeted with gunfire that left two officers wounded.
The gunman was later identified as Anthony Bailey, the long-time boyfriend of one of the victims, Sandra White.
The death of Sandra White and her children is only one of a disturbing series of recent murders where the killers were the victims' nearest and dearest.
A LOVE GONE BAD TURNED DEADLY
White and Bailey were in a long-term relationship, and she was expecting his child, but the registered nurse's sister revealed that she was not happy and had had her boyfriend served with an eviction notice. He had refused to leave, and matters finally came to an explosive end.
HOSTAGES IN THEIR OWN HOME
After the arrival of the Police and the shootout, Bailey barricaded himself in the house with the 8-month-pregnant White and her 16-year-old son, Arkeyvion White.
A task force and a negotiator were deployed and spent 17 hours trying to reason with Bayley who was described as being "very angry" during his exchanges with the Police.
A DEADLY OUTCOME TO THE STANDOFF
On Friday morning, at 3 am, Police finally broke into the home and found White and her son dead.
Bailey was also deceased, having apparently taken his own life after killing the mother of his unborn child and her 16-year-old.
The two SWAT team officers who were shot by Bailey were hospitalized, but their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The death of Sandra White and her children is only one of a disturbing series of recent murders where the killers were the victims' nearest and dearest.
