Kim Kardashian Giggles as She Recalls Stealing a Pair of Expensive Dior Sunglasses from a Store

Kim Kardashian launched her first sunglasses collection with Carolina Lemke last week, and it reminded the reality star of Dior sunglasses she stole years ago and still has “to this day.”

It was over twenty years ago in Hawaii that Kim and Khloe entered the empty Christian Dior store and walked out with the rimless pair of shades. “Khloe really wanted the Dior sunglasses, so she took them, and we walked out,” Kim told Bustle.

Giggling she reminisced about how “wild” the experience was for them as she continued, “I think the [employee] must have gone to the bathroom or been in the back by herself on a Sunday. I don't know what the story was, but it was really funny."

Now, of course, Kim can design the particular style of sunglasses she wants and admits that she already has “so many glasses.”

But a particular style may not be sold in stores and is what led Kim to design her own line from beginning to end."It's nice to have a company that will really listen to your direction, really wants to collaborate, and have me actually design everything from start to finish," Kim added.

To introduce the new line of sunglasses, Kim arranged a launch at the Bel Air Hotel in Los Angeles on April 2, with invites to press, fashion influencers and family members.

Seven different styles of sunglasses in a variety of colors filled the room and ranged from oversized reflective shield silhouettes to ‘90s-inspired narrow frames.

Three mannequin heads featured prominently in the front of the room, each with side-swept, floor-length hair extensions, a mask and a pair of shades.

The mannequins looked rather catchy and became the result of a plan in progress as Kim elaborated:

"At first we made the mannequins and then we kind of wanted moving images ... so then we also made face masks. As soon as I saw them, I said, this is our press box. Like, it just clicked. I was like, this is what it has to be. I've never seen anything like it. I thought it was cute.”

The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star more recently showed a disregard towards another law as well. In October 2017, Kim got pictured texting while driving, which is an infraction of California state law.

The fine for a first-time offense might only be $20, while a second increases the amount to $50, but the fact remains that it takes a person’s concentration away from the road. A split second is all it takes for lives to change forever.

Irrespective, Kim has been the envy of many women, both young and old, and while many might not take it to such extremes, one fan wanted to look like Kim and went for cosmetic surgery to make it happen.

However, the procedure did not go as planned, and the 32-year-old model and mother went through an “excruciatingly painful” time following the botched cosmetic surgery.
