The only child of Hollywood legend Cary Grant and his fourth wife Dyan Cannon, also an actress, is 52 years old now and she followed her parents’ steps appearing in several films and popular TV shows.

52-year-old Jennifer Grant is mostly known for playing the recurring character Celeste Lundy from 1993 to 1994 on fan-favorite “Beverly Hills, 90210,” but since that breakthrough role she went on to take part in more than 20 films and series.

A lesser-known fact about her is that she is a pure Hollywood bred, born in Burbank, California on February 26, 1966, a product of the relationship between the star couple Cary Grant and Dyan Cannon.

Even when she grew up surrounded by the film industry, it wasn’t her first professional pursuit, partly due to her father’s strong opposition on her becoming an actress.

Jennifer got a history and political science degree from Stanford University and even had a job in a law firm before surrendering to the acting bug, but only after the passing of her father in 1986.

Even when Cary and Dyan divorced only two years after Jennifer was born, her father was always a strong presence in her life while he lived. His death, when Jennifer was 20 years old, had a long-lasting impact in her life.

GETTING STARTED AS AN ACTRESS

Her first opportunity to show the talent she inherited from her parents was in an appearance on the series “Moon Over Miami,” but it was her work on “Beverly Hills, 90210” which cemented her reputation as a TV actress.

Three years later Jennifer landed her first acting job for the big screen in the science-fiction thriller “Savage,” which opened the path for her to star in other films like “The Evening Star,” “Erasable You,” and “Ghost Squad.”

A STRONG BOND WITH HER FATHER

Jennifer was Cary’s only child. She was born a year after Cary married Dyan in 1965. The actor was 62 years old by the time she was born, and he devoted to his daughter so much that he never acted again after her arrival.

THE GRIEF OF LOSING HIM

“The grief of losing my father has come in waves over the years, as it does with most people,” Jennifer wrote in her memoir titled “Good Stuff: A Reminiscence of My Father, Cary Grant,” published in 2011.

“His love and devotion as a father provided my closest, most intimate relationship. Dad, and our time together, is in my bones,” Jennifer wrote.

PERSONAL LIFE

Not much is known about Jennifer’s personal life. She is a very private person with no known profile in social media. Jennifer married TV producer Randy Zisk in 1993, but the two divorced three years later.

In 2008, she gave birth to son Cary Benjamin Grant, named after her famous father, with former boyfriend Arthur Page. Daughter Davian Adele Grant followed in 2011.
