Inside Michael Jordan's Daughter Jasmine's 2nd Baby Shower (Photos)
Two months after their first baby shower, Michael Jordan’s daughter, Jasmine, and her fiancé shared pictures from a second one with more family and friends including the basketball legend. The soon-to-be mama may also have hinted her unborn baby’s name in her post.
Jasmine and her man, Rakeem Christmas, have been keeping fans up to date on their journey to parenthood and their recent photos of an outdoor baby shower serves the same purpose.
The event seemed to run with a safari theme of sorts, with elegant wood furniture, plants and flowers for décor, and splashes of gold here and there. Family members sat on both sides of long tables laid out in what looked like a backyard and there were plenty of desserts to go around.
Rakeem looked stylish in a checkered shirt worn over a black t-shirt, skinny grey jeans, and red sneakers, while Jasmine glowed in a white off-the-shoulder dress that complimented her baby bump.
'I look forward to reading each book to and with my little man'
In one photo shared by the soon-to-be dad, Jasmine smiled for the camera while sitting in a chair with a “Mama” tag, and in another, the couple posed with family members at a long table.
Jasmine and Rakeem were also captured sharing a private moment close to the dessert table as the former “Indiana Pacers” star gushed in the caption: “We Can't Wait For You To Get Here.”
Jasmine, meanwhile, may have revealed her unborn child’s name in one of her posts from the shower. Alongside a picture of herself, Rakeem, and her NBA legend dad, Michael, she wrote:
“The R & The M to my baby RMC”
There was a “Baby Rakeem” sign at the party, so we’re guessing Jasmine’s baby boy will be named Rakeem Michael Christmas.
She shared photos from the event to social media and seemed to be most impressed by the black-authored children books she received as gifts for the unborn child.
Alongside the lovely images, Jasmine added:
“Besides seeing my family, the best part of the shower was receiving/collecting several children’s book by black authors. I look forward to reading each book to and with my little man where the characters illustrated within them look like him.”
The expecting parents met at Syracuse University where Jasmine, 26, graduated with a degree in Sports Management and Rakeem, played for the college team.
The couple got engaged in June of 2018 and announced they were going to have a baby last Christmas.
Jasmine is Michael’s only daughter from his previous marriage to Juanita Vanoy, and she has two older brothers, Jeffrey and Marcus. Michael has since tied the knot a second time to Yvette Prieto with whom he shares five-year-old twin girls, Victoria and Ysabel.
