Aisha Tyler of 'Criminal Minds' Posts about Taping the Last Episode
To commemorate the first day in the shooting of the final episode of the series “Criminal Minds,” Aisha Tyler shared some treasured memories of the day.
Fans of the crime-fighting series will know Aisha as Tara Lewis, the forensic psychologist, and supervisory special agent that joined “Criminal Minds” in its eleventh season. The actress posted a gallery of images taken during the day along with pictures “from our very last table read in the entire universe ever.”
The beginning of her caption reflected the same manner of finality as she wrote, “Today is the first day of taping of the last episode of @crimmindscbs EVER.”
In several images, Aisha got pictured with co-star Matthew Gray Gubler, who plays the role of the criminal profiler Dr. Spencer Reid. Both posed together for a happy snap clad in matching jumpsuits. Aisha went all orange from suit to shoes while Matthew looked pretty in pink with yellow converse shoes.

Today is the first day of taping of the last episode of @crimmindscbs EVER. In honor of that, here are some shots from our very last table read in the entire universe ever, where @gublergram and I decided we would make it #jumpsuitmonday. We look like twins! #cmspiritday I’ll try to story a little bit every day I shoot these next two weeks. I love this cast and crew in a way I will never be able to fully articulate; in the four-plus years I have been here I have laughed and cried and hugged and yelled and grown so much in the company of these brilliant people. These days are so sweetly bittersweet. It’s hard to imagine my life without this place. We’re going to have an amazing last few days, hug it out, and drop the mic. #wheelsup #wheelsupwednesday #onelasttime #unsubforwhat
“[Matthew Gray Gubler] and I decided we would make it #jumpsuitmonday. We look like twins! #cmspiritday," she wrote.
As part of the caption, Aisha also told fans that she would try to document “a little bit every day” until the final wrap in two weeks.
The actress also wrote about her co-stars and what working with them, meant to her. "I love this cast and crew in a way I will never be able to fully articulate; in the four-plus years I have been here I have laughed and cried and hugged and yelled and grown so much in the company of these brilliant people," Aisha reminisced.

Almost all of our @crimmindscbs fam got to come out for the @backforkfilm premiere this week (@gublergram is on tour for his amazing new book #rumplebuttercup and @pagetpagetgram had a VERY early call the next day and all the lines in the world to memorize). It’s out in sélect theaters today and on VOD everywhere April 9. So impressed by @j0shstewart’s surehanded writing and directing and our own @ajcook’s powerful and nuanced acting. Go see this important independent film about the #opiate crisis deeply affecting so many American families today.
Her caption ended on a more emotional tone as the series in its fifteenth season, enters is final days of shooting. “These days are so sweetly bittersweet. It’s hard to imagine my life without this place,” she wrote. “We’re going to have an amazing last few days, hug it out, and drop the mic.”
Fans of the series responded woefully at the finality of the much-loved shows ending."Mannn, it hurts to even read the words 'last episode of Criminal Minds,'" one fan responded, while another added, "This makes me wanna cry 😭😭😭 I’ve been watching this show since I was 14."
When Matthew recently spoke with Parade, he tried not to give any spoilers regarding Season 15 before it premieres.

Matthew also revealed that his character’s schizophrenic mother, Diana, played by Jane Lynch would be joining the cast for its final season as well.
The shows executive producer, Erica Messer hinted at the possibility that some of the cast members from previous seasons would be returning too.
She promised the finale to be a “tearjerker” and added in a separate interview, “I am very hopeful that we can honor all of those characters who have been beloved and with this team, with the audience for years."
