Harry and William: Here's How Baby Archie Could Help Unite the Two Princes

The arrival of Harry and Meghan’s firstborn might be just what the Crown needs to get the former and his older brother William reconnect for the sake of the newest generation of royals.

Since baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born on May 6, Prince Harry has a new role in common with his brother Prince William, the one of father, and this could be the key for them to build a new bridge that reunites them.

“William and Harry will want their children to know their cousins and do things together, so they will work harder at their relationship,” a source close to the family shared with People.

REDEFINING THEIR RELATIONSHIP

“The brothers will have a different kind of relationship and move on,” the insider told the news outlet.

According to the magazine, the brothers were always expected to act as a team on their royal duties by longtime palace staffers, but as the two have grown older and started their own families, an inevitable distance has grown between them.

“It was only going to work until they married — and it went on a while longer than perhaps was originally thought,” another palace insider commented.

SPLITTING ROYAL HOUSEHOLDS

The most eloquent sign of Prince Harry, the younger of the brothers, moving on to pursue his own path apart from that of Prince William, was his and his wife Meghan Markle’s recent move to a new home away from Kensington Palace in March.

Not only the recent parents established themselves at Frogmore Cottage, but they released their own Instagram account, @sussexroyal, to share important updates with the public.

“It’s a shame. There was power in that unity and great strength in the foursome, but I see why it is happening,” a household source added.

“There is always that tension: trying to do the PR thing and then realizing that they are just real people. They want their own place and their own things,” the person also said.

FAMILY FIRST

But beyond growing pains and royal intrigues, Harry and William are still brothers, and the excitement over the younger of the brothers becoming a parent could revive their mutual fondness and affection.

“There is never any doubt that they will be there for each other 100 percent and support each other when it matters,” an insider told People as well.

“Prince George and Princess Charlotte have already been asking their parents when they can meet their new cousin, they are as excited as anybody.”

THE CAMBRIDGE’S MEET BABY SUSSEX

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge finally got to meet baby Archie, their nephew, on May 14, eight days after his birth, following Prince Harry’s return from engagements in Oxford.

Prince William and Kate Middleton arrived at Frogmore Cottage in the afternoon, but they did not bring their three children along with them, so they will have to wait to meet their cousin.

According to Express, Prince George and Princess Charlotte are anxious to meet the newest member of the family, so a full family visit is probably around the corner.

“Prince George and Princess Charlotte have already been asking their parents when they can meet their new cousin, they are as excited as anybody,” a source told the news outlet.
