Katie Holmes Looks Dainty in a Floral Dress in Rare Public Sighting with Mom (Photo)

Katie Holmes walked the red carpet in a yellow floral dress with a black collar during a night out with her mother, Kathleen.

Holmes, 40, attended the 2019 American Ballet Theatre Spring Gala at New York's Metropolitan Opera House recently. She was accompanied by her mom Kathleen, a homemaker and philanthropist.

In May 2018, Holmes was also photographed in New York City with her mother.

The "Jack and Jill" actress looked elegant in a yellow floral billowed maxi dress with black collar and paired them with lace stiletto booties.

Holmes let her hair down and opted for minimal makeup. Meanwhile, her mother kept it casual in a black sweater and pleated pink maxi skirt.

The actress took to Instagram to share a photo of herself with her mom. She captioned the post:

"[American Ballet Theatre] [Maison Mayle] so thankful for such a beautiful night at the ballet with my mom and our wonderful friends [Malcolm Carfrae] [John Wattiker]."

In May 2018, Holmes was also photographed in New York City with her mother. The two attended an event honoring Ava DuVernay and her series "Queen Sugar."

For the occasion, Holmes wore a floral ruffled top with a discreet high neck, and her short, shaggy hair was elegantly tousled.

She teamed the top with high-waisted white slacks and dainty heels.

Kathleen was equally charming in a crisp white button-up top. Her hair was casually styled, and she wore a pair of dark-rimmed glasses.

Born in Toledo, Ohio, Holmes is the youngest of five children born to Kathleen and Martin Joseph Holmes, Sr., an attorney. She has three sisters, Holly, Tamera, and Nancy, and one brother, Martin Jr.

Holmes bears a striking resemblance to her big sisters and mother. In an adorable snap she published on Instagram in May, the "Dawson’s Creek" star and the rest of her clan can be seen smiling wide. Many people noticed that they share the same smile.

Holmes shares daughter, Suri, with ex-husband Tom Cruise, and has been involved in a long-term romance with Academy Award winner Jaime Foxx.
