Kate Middleton Opens up about the Struggle She Had with Princess Charlotte's Hair

The Duchess of Cambridge was impressed by the styling of a little girl that gave her flowers during a royal visit to Cumbria, and she had to admit that it was challenging for her to braid her daughter’s hair.

37-year-old Kate Middleton might look like she is effortlessly flawless, but she hasn’t had an easy time when it comes to getting her 4-year-old Princess Charlotte ready to go out in public, as she shared with some locals during a trip to Cumbria, UK.

The mother-of-three had an encounter with a family from the rural county during the final stop Middleton and her husband, 36-year-old Prince William, made on their busy day.

Middleton was speaking with a 3-year-old girl that belonged to a family that lives in a farm in Patterdale, and couldn’t help but notice the girl’s hairdo, prompting her to admit her frustration when trying to do braids on Charlotte’s hair.

“I tried to do a plait for Charlotte this morning. It didn’t go very well,” she candidly revealed, not before complimenting the shy little girl who gave her a bucket of flowers. She also wondered who styled her hair so well.

Not long ago, William also had a candid moment with a group of parents called Dads 4 Life in Blackpool, when he shared his struggles to fix Charlotte’s hair decently.

True to be told, Charlotte has a perfect look every time she is seen in public, especially considering her age, and not long before her parents visit to Cumbria, she was seen wearing braids during the Trooping the color parade.

The two miniature plaits tied together with a ribbon were actually the second hairstyle the little princess showed during Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday celebration, the first being her signature half-up do.

So, either Middleton was only trying to be modest about her hairstyling skills in front of this family or she has someone else styling her daughter’s hair.

Not long ago, William also had a candid moment with a group of parents called Dads 4 Life in Blackpool, when he shared his struggles to fix Charlotte’s hair decently.

When the resident and fellow father admitted that he had to watch YouTube tutorials in order to learn how to face this task, William replied by ventilating his own frustrations in that area.

“I can do [Charlotte’s] ponytail, but that’s about it as I don’t have enough hair to practice on!” the prince joked.

Middleton has won the British people’s hearts during her years as a mother, having starred in many relatable moments as she shares details about her day-to-day with her children when engaging in conversations with the public.

Early in 2019, the Duchess opened up about what she struggled the most with regarding her first two children, 5-year-old Prince George and Charlotte.

"It’s so hard. You get a lot of support with the baby as a mother particularly in the early days, but after the age of 1, it falls away. After that there isn’t a huge amount — lots of books to read,” Middleton pointed out in January.
