NeNe Leakes Posts about RHOA Return Then Deletes It Shortly Later
Despite all the drama that went down on the last season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” NeNe Leakes is not letting anyone take her spot on the show. The reality star recently confirmed she'd be back on the show’s 12th season, days before she called one of her co-stars “weak and desperate.”
NeNe Leakes will be back to her rightful place on “Real Housewives of Atlanta” next season, and she announced the news by sharing a photo of her signed contract on Instagram last Friday.
The 51-year-old said in her caption: “Season 12 SIGNED! Nay Nay will see you in NYC Sunday! Let’s go #RHOA.”
However, Leakes might have let the cat out of the bag before it was time because she deleted the pic hours later.
The news comes days after several blogs reported NeNe was being “forced to sit out” filming for the first half of season 12. Her rep was quick to shut down those rumors, telling Entertainment Tonight:
“I can say with authority that there is absolutely no truth to this. The only reason why she's not currently shooting is because she is still in active negotiations with her contract."
FALL OUT WITH THE GIRLS
Leakes is one of “RHOA”’s veteran stars, and she’s often seen as the backbone of the show.
However, fans feared she might be bidding goodbye to the show after it’s last season, where she had several fallouts with some of her co-stars, especially Cynthia Bailey.
The drama came when Kenya Moore made a surprise appearance at Bailey’s party for the inauguration of her new wine cellar. Leakes felt blindsided and betrayed, seeing as she and Moore’s relationship ended on a wrong note.
Leakes accused Bailey, and the rest of the housewives, of conspiring against her and even called out Bailey for being a fake friend.
VERBAL BLADES THROWN AT CYNTHIA
NeNe didn’t hold back when asked about the status of her relationship with Cynthia last weekend, ahead of New York’s Pride Parade where both were supposed to be aboard the Bravo float.
“No, I do not plan to talk to her. I feel sorry for her. I can say, ‘Hello.’ I can stand beside her,” Leakes told Lore’l of “The Morning Hustle” when asked if she was planning on striking a conversation with Bailey.
Leakes also said that although she and Cynthia were friends outside of the show, she feels like Bailey has resorted to desperate attempts to maintain her peach, and sadly, that involved her fallout with Nene.
“I feel like she was a friend to me, and I feel like I was a friend to her. I feel like she has definitely fallen victim — she needs to do whatever she needs to do to stay on the show,” Leakes stated. “And I’m not that girl. I’m never going to do whatever I need to do to stay on the show."
PRODUCERS' MIND GAMES
The veteran reality star also added that the producers’ schemes, mixed with Bailey’s “weak” mindset, was part of the problem. She explained:
“Now, the producers ain’t gonna be able to tell me nothing, and they know they ain’t gonna be able to tell me nothing. They would be able to come to me and be like ‘You need to turn on Cynthia, and I’d be like ‘You know that ain’t never going to happen.'”
And added:
“They can tell her that though because she’s weaker. She’s definitely weak. She’s doing whatever she needs to do. She looks really desperate.”
Although Bailey didn’t address Leakes’ jabs directly, she shared a series of pics on Instagram with the caption: “don’t throw [bricks] throw [love].”
Fans can't wait to see how Cynthia and Nene's relationship will play out in the new season of "RHOA," and now that there are rumors about Kenya Moore's return, the drama will be intense.
