Gabrielle Union & Baby Kaavia Are Serving Face in New Mother-Daughter Photo
Gabrielle Union is a professional posing in front of the cameras, but in one of her recent Instagram photos, she was upstaged by the prowess of her 8-month-old daughter Kaavia James.
Gabby Union and Dwyane Wade’s baby girl is growing up fast, and she’s already learning a thing or two from her actress mom when it comes to showing off her best attitude for the camera lens.
ROYAL-BLUE OUTFITS
A new pic shared by Union on Instagram shows her and Kaavia exuding African royalty energy with their matching outfits.
Gabby donned a two-piece swimsuit and a beautiful “Aphrodite Goddess” kaftan in rich blue tones from Sai Sankoh’s resort line. Her hair was styled in braids and adorned with silver hoops, and she looks gorgeous wearing natural-looking make-up.
Meanwhile, Kaavia, who rested on her mother’s hip, donned an African-inspired blue dress and a matching headpiece that enhanced her gorgeous melanin and regal facial expression.
"I love it because she lets you know who she is and what she wants and what she doesn’t want." - Dwyane Wade.
“Settled and Serving,” Union captioned the pic, which was instantly flocked by friends and fans gushing about the good-looking mother and daughter duo.
FANS’ AND WADE’S REACTION
“Two queens. Kaavia skipped princess and went straight to queen. Crown her,” wrote one user.
Another added, “Shady baby said pose get my good side, there it is right there!”
And overprotective father and husband Dwyane also chimed in to comment:

KAAVIA’S RED CARPET DEBUT
Union also took to her daughter’s Instagram account to share a close-up of her adorable face, and as usual, added a caption worthy of her “shady baby” that reads:
“Ooopfff! Shirley said she could fight. Didn't think it would go down in the bounce house, but here we are.”
The photos came on the heels of Kaavia’s red carpet debut at the Nickelodeon "Kids’ Choice Sports Awards" last Thursday.
Kaavia donned a summery white dress and sandals for the occasion and stole the spotlight from her parents with her calm and collected behavior while thousands of photographers got in her and her parents' faces.
“It’s amazing,” Wade said of having Kaavia with them at the event.
And added:
“Obviously our story is very documented, and we were waiting on her arrival for a long time. It’s a lot for her, but she will look back at these moments and appreciate them when she comes back again, and she’s walking.”
SHADY BUT WELL-BEHAVED BABY
When asked their secret to keep Kaavia happy at the event, Wade joked saying they had a “stern talk” with her in the car, and Gabby added that they “bribed her” with “puffs.”
The little girl, whom Gabby says inherited her father’s look but her mother’s attitude, is making strides in her milestones: she’s crawling, walking around with the help of a walker, learning to swim, and most recently she started nodding, Wade revealed at the Kids’ Choice.
“She’s very particular about everything, just like her mother,” Dwyane said of his girl. “But I love it because she lets you know who she is and what she wants and what she doesn’t want and what she loves, so it makes it easier for me to be like, ‘Oh, you don’t want that? Okay, cool.’”
Gabby and Dwyane welcomed Kaavia via surrogate last November. Wade is also dad to three boys — Xavier, Zion, and Zaire Blessing Dwyane.
