Michael Douglas Goes for a Stroll in Portofino Dressed in Casual Wear
Michael Douglas was sighted in Portofino, Italy, on Wednesday, while taking a solo walk along the local marina.
The 74-year-old actor was dressed in a plain white T-shirt and a pair of black shorts. He completed the casual look with a pair of grey trainers, a navy baseball cap and sunglasses to shield his eyes from the sun.
He seemed to be in a cheerful mood as he met up with a group of friends. He stopped on a bridge to take a few selfies with the view and posted one via his Instagram account with the caption:
"Ciao from our Mediterranean summer holiday!"
Michael is currently vacationing at Portofino with his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, as they were sighted relaxing aboard their yacht on Tuesday.
While relaxing at sea, Michael favored a white t-shirt paired with pastel-colored shorts and a fedora hat. Catherine, on the other hand, was dressed in a pastel pink kaftan in gold and lavender floral print and accessorized with a cream Panama hat.
HOW DID MICHAEL DOUGLAS MEET HIS WIFE?
The couple first met in 1996 at the Deauville Film Festival. At that time, Catherine was promoting the movie "The Mask of Zorro." She had first sighted Michael in her hotel's lobby, but he had walked right past her.
They were later introduced by mutual friends, Antonio Banderas, and Melanie Griffith, at a private dinner that evening. And that night, while sharing a nightcap, Michael said his famous pickup line:
"I want to father your children."
It worked because, by New Year's Eve 1999, Michael proposed to Catherine. He gave her an antique Fred Leighton 10-carat diamond ring, which is estimated to be worth about $1 million. And on the 18th of November, the following year, the
Hollywood power couple tied the knot at the famous Plaza Hotel in New York City. Their union is blessed with two children – a son, Dylan, and a daughter, Carys Zeta Douglas.
