Emmy Rose Russell, the granddaughter of legendary country music star, Loretta Lynn is all grown up, as she posing for a picture with her dad.
Recently, Patsy Lynn Russell posted a picture of her daughter Emmy and her husband, Philip Russell, sharing a warm embrace. The proud mother captioned the post: “Emmy and her Daddy.”
Emmy is best known for her performance with her grandmother when she was 11-years-old. In the video, a seemingly nervous Emmy has a bit of rocky start to her performance.
But once she got started, she found her confidence and wowed audiences with her rendition of The Band Perry’s song, “If I Die Young.”
As her grandmother proudly looked on, audiences cheered as she sang. The audience seemed to enjoy the moment so much so that they requested she plays another song.
Sitting next to her grandmother, Rose looked like a natural performer as she confidently sang a second song, for the eager crowd.
Since suffering a stroke in 2017, Lynn’s has scaled back on her public appearances. Following her stroke, several media outlets have been speculating that Lynn’s health has taken a turn for the worst. Dubbed as “Fake News,” by Lynn and her family. Her daughter Peggy Lynn Marchetti responded to the claims saying:
In June 2019, the musician also took to Facebook to dispel many of the rumors surrounding her health. True to form, Lynn gave a very sassy response to media claims, saying:
“Well, through the years they've said I'm broke, homeless, cheating, drinking, gone crazy, terminally ill, and even dead! Poor things can't ever get it right. I guess if those old pesky tabloids are harassing me then they're giving someone else a break......but I'm about an inch from taking 'em to Fist City! #raisinghell #yourmommashouldataughtyoubetter #tellthetruth #fistcity #trashtalkingtabloids#fakenews #liarliarpantsonfire”
Nothing seems to be stopping the famed music star. She continues to make appearances and promote new music. In 2018, Lynn was nominated for a Grammy, for her song “Wouldn’t It Be Great?”
As her grandmother continues to trail blaze in country music. Emmy’s musical ambitions, at such a young age, could be an indication that the next generation of Lynn’s family might be ready to the stage one day.
