Meet ABP Bear Brown’s New Fiancée Raiven Adams
The cast of "Alaskan Bush People" will soon be welcoming a new in-law to their fast-growing family. Bear Brown is about to get hitched.
Bear Brown, whose real name is Solomon Isaiah Freedom Brown, is just one member of the unique group we know as Discovery Channel's "Alaskan Bush People."
Last weekend, Bear asked his girlfriend Raiven Adams for her hand in marriage. It was the last thing Bear himself expected to happen at this point in his life.
How they met
The two met at Bear's brother Noah's wedding which took place in Idaho last summer. They started out as friends, but the sparks flew quickly.
In an interview with People, Bear explained that Raiven sometimes helps out her mother. Last year, she worked at Noah's wedding. She typically does photography at such events and other photoshoots.
Despite their instant connection, the pair didn't start dating until earlier this year. Bear said she became his "best friend" since the wedding. Soon enough, she'll be his wife.
Where he proposed
Bear explained that Adams has helped him out a lot in the past year and he hopes to be there for her the way she was for him. "I love her," he told People. He added: "I never thought I'd hear myself say those words, but I do!"
The 32-year-old is ready to say "I do" at the altar as well. He reportedly proposed to Adams in the same place the couple shared their first kiss. It happened in Washington, on a part of his family's property.
According to Adams, 21, the moment was a "perfect" one with just the two of them. She called her fiancé a "special person with the biggest heart" and was happy to be next to him.
How fans met Adams
Adams received her family heirloom as an engagement ring. As Bear said, though, Adams by herself is "truly the full package" and beautiful "inside and out."
Fans met this "most awesome and extreme woman" — as Bear described her — back in July. At the time, we also saw that Bear's family had already accepted Adams into their home.
Bear's sister Rain posted a photo of her, Adams, and sister Bird hugging each other in the outdoors. "#Ranchlife," Rain captioned the sweet shot.
How history interfered
Adams also made her followers aware of her new love on social media by including her boyfriend's nickname in the third line of her Instagram profile page.
Once her identity became known, there were those who wanted to dig up Adams' romantic past. They found out that she dated a woman before she met her fiancé.
Adams reportedly addressed the topic by saying that she's "fought for [her] peace of mind in [her] sexuality, and in [her] life." Right now, she loves herself no matter what, and would like others to "let [her] sexuality be."
What Adams allegedly identifies as
She went on to explain that she split up with her ex-girlfriend because of their youth and unpreparedness and that three years have already passed since the break-up.
"I am with Bear!" she wrote, adding the hashtag "#pansexualandproud." She reportedly finished by saying, "I am happy and he is what I want every day of my life."
What Bear has been through
Bear is the third child of Billy and Ami Brown, the leaders of the "Alaskan Bush People." Born on June 10, 1987, in Alaska, Bear is one of the more skilled hunters in the group.
He has five siblings in all — brothers Matthew Joshua, Gabriel, and Noah, and sisters Snowbird and Rain. Of all of them, Bear is the only one who broke a bone as a child. He was in a body cast for three months.
In May last year, he had another health scare when he was running through the words and got hit in the eye by a tree branch. Luckily, the injury was mild — a scratched cornea. Let's hope Adams will keep him out of harm's way for a while.
