'How to Get Away with Murder' Actress Viola Davis Is L’Oréal Paris' Newest Brand Ambassador
54-year-old actress Viola Davis joins the L'Oreal Paris family, becoming the newest addition to its roster of distinguished brand ambassadors.
L'Oreal Paris' mission is to reflect the diversity of the modern world, and they believe Viola Davis is the missing piece they need to advance their cause.
Davis joins the brand's roster of distinguished spokeswomen, which also includes Davis' "How To Get Away With Murder" co-star, Aja Namoi King. The list also includes the likes of Celine Dion, Eva Longoria, and Helen Mirren.
The Face of "Age Perfect"
Davis is set to become the face of L'Oreal Paris' newest line called "Age Perfect," the skincare line made for mature skin.
The ABC actress will appear in TV, print, and digital advertising campaigns for the brand. During a recent interview, Davis says her addition to the L'Oreal family feels "surreal" to her.
“It feels surreal. First of all, and you can take what I’m about to say with a grain of salt, I never thought that I could be an international spokesperson for L’Oréal. The fact that I am, it feels like my life has come full circle."
On Becoming a Beauty Ambassador
As a young girl who lived in Central Falls, Rhode Island, Viola would have never imagined becoming a beauty spokesperson, because she didn't fit society's standards of becoming a "model." She says:
“When I thought of beauty and femininity when I was a young scrappy girl growing up in Central Falls, Rhode Island, I didn’t associate it with myself. I didn’t think that I had all those attributes that women who are seen like that should have.”
Coming Full Circle
Now, Davis is proud to become a part of the global brand, as it "feels right to her." She adds that L'Oreal found her at a perfect time, as everything seems to be coming full circle to her.
“It feels right to me. And I feel like L’Oréal found me at a perfect time, I sort of found them at a perfect time, sort of like how I found my husband, you know?”

Viola's Beautiful Life
Indeed, it seems everything just falls into place for Viola, who's not only had a stellar career, but a budding love life as well.
She and her husband Julius Tennon have been together for fifteen years, and share a daughter named Genesis.
Davis and Tennon wed in 2003, before adopting their little girl in 2011. Their family set up just works for them, and despite her busy schedule, all of her free time is dedicated to them.
Now that she's a L'Oreal ambassador, it sets a good example for young girls like Genesis to be confident in their own skin and love themselves for who they are.
Congratulations, Viola!
