Princess Beatrice's Estimated $310,000 Engagement Ring Reportedly Has a Meghan Markle Connection

Princess Beatrice has announced her engagement to millionaire, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Details of her engagement reveal similarities to Meghan Markle's engagement ring.

Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew's daughter, Princess Beatrice is engaged to, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. The million property developer proposed to her earlier this month during a weekend in Italy. Confirming her engagement, she tweeted:

"I'm so excited to announce my engagement to Edo.

It is reported, Edoardo worked closely with British jeweller, Shaun Leane, to make the custom engagement ring. Sharing a picture of the ring, Shaun explains:

"Bespoke design for Princess Beatrice - The platinum and diamond engagement ring is a fusion of Victorian and Art Deco designs and is accompanied by two additional matching bands in the distinctive Shaun Leane aesthetic."

The bespoke platinum and diamond ring is estimated to be worth $310 000. The centre diamond is 2.5 karats and the diamonds on the side are each 0.75 karats.

Just like Prince Harry's engagement ring to Meghan Markle, the diamonds are ethically sourced in Botswana. In a heartfelt message Eduardo confirms his engagement gushing:

"You will never be alone my love, my heart is your home. Hand in hand, today, tomorrow and forever. ?"

"He knew that he wanted a round stone, and he knew he wanted platinum. We talked about aesthetic and he said, 'I really love Art Deco, and Beatrice really likes a Victorian aesthetic in jewellery," Shaun describes Eduardo's inspiration behind the ring.

The jewellery designer adds that he was in constant communication with Eduardo, because he wanted to ensure that the ring reflected Beatrice's taste, he reveals:

"We talked about fusing the two together and he thought it would be lovely to do that, to fuse their two personalities together within the ring. There was a real unity."

Shaun has made jewellery for celebrities like Adele, Cameron Diaz and Kate Moss. Most notably his designs have been worn by the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan.

According to PEOPLE, She recently wore one of his Yellow Gold Vermeil Diamond Tusk Bangle to the launch of her "Smart Works" capsule collection launch. She also wore one of his serpent bracelets during a trip to Fiji, in 2018.

Beatrice and Eduardo had been friends for several years before they began dating a year ago. It is reported, they made their first public appearance in March when they attended the National Portrait Gallery gala with Prince William and Kate Middleton.
