Melissa Gilbert's Younger Son Michael Boxleitner Is All Grown Up

"Little House on the Prairie" actress, Melissa Gilbert's son, Young Boxleitner is all grown up now, and he is celebrating his birthday with a philanthropic gesture.

One of Bruce Boxleitner's sons, Michael has chosen to celebrate his birthday with fundraising for depressed and suicidal individuals.

The young adult, now 24, in a Facebook post announced his decision to celebrate his birth, by requesting the public to make donations to National Suicide Prevention Lifelife.

While giving his reason for the kind gesture, Michael explained that he chose the unprofitable decision because the goal of the NSPL means a lot to him and he looks forward to people's donation as a way to celebrate with him.

The Illinois-born, some years ago was featured in a series, "Animals Out of Paper," which points out the struggles of life that affect the play's main characters, Suresh, Ilana, and Andy.

Ilana, an origami artist goes through severe bouts of depression at the start of the play, and this made her cease being an artist. Michael plays the role of a calculus teacher, Andy, who is very simple-minded about the world.

The play focuses on pain, and how it is liable to leave dents in people, much like the folds of origami.

Michael was born to actor and actress Bruce Boxleitner and Melissa Gilbert in the mid-1990s. He has three siblings, Dakota Brinkman, Sam Boxleitner, and Lee Boxleitner, from his father's first marriage.

His parents first met a year before his birth, while working on a film they co-acted, Battle of the Network Stars. The lovers worked for a while before beginning their romantic journey. Melissa and Bruce tied the knot on the first day of 1995.

Michael had his first truly heartbreaking incident when he was only 15 years old, while his mother filed for divorce from Bruce. Gilbert cited contradictory diversities as the reason for her decision to leave the marriage and asked for joint custody of Michael.

His parents put their California home (which was constructed in 1955 and has five bedrooms) up for sale, to complete the divorce process after 16 years of marriage.

Currently, old Boxleitner is married to Verena King, who is the founder and president of Verena King Public Relations and King Social. They got married on the 5th of October 2016 in Las Vegas and are yet to welcome any kids.
