Elton John Thanked His Fans after Wrapping up 2019 North American Leg of His 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road' Tour
Elton John took to social media to thank his fans for being "spectacular" before following the yellow brick road to Australia for the next leg of his Farewell Tour.
On November 16, Elton John held his last performance as part of his Farewell Tour stateside in Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Uniondale, and the legendary singer marked the special occasion with a post to social media.
"The #EltonFarewellTour wrapped up the North American 2019 leg last night America and Canada, thanks for being such a spectacular audience night after night!" the caption read alongside a picture of Elton during his performance.
Fans quickly responded with a mix of adoration, sadness, and excitement, as those looking forward to attending future performances expressed their glee while others looked back at what Elton's music meant to them over the years.
"It brings me great sadness to think of you not performing anymore. You are a truly amazing talent and have brought so much joy to people through your music. And it will live on long after all of us are gone," one fan lamented, while another added, "You’ve always been an inspiration to me since I first learned to play music 30+ years ago."
Elton John will be heading to Australia for the next leg of his tour, with his first performances at HBF Park in Perth scheduled for 30 November and 1 December, before heading to Adelaide to sing at the Adelaide Botanic Park on December 4 and 5.
The legendary singer-songwriter first announced the news of his global tour in January 2018. After starting in September 2018, it will take three years and over 300 shows across five continents before its conclusion in 2021.
“Performing live fuels me, and I’m ecstatic and humbled to continue to play to audiences across the globe. I plan to bring the passion and creativity that has entertained my fans for decades to my final tour," Elton said.
After the completion of his last ever tour, Elton looks forward to waving goodbye to life on the road, and dedicating more time and focus on raising his two sons Zachary Jackson Levon and Elijah Joseph Daniel.
