Kate Beckinsale Responds to Romance Rumors after She Was Spotted with Jamie Foxx at HFPA's Golden Globes Ambassador Event

Kate Beckinsale had some interesting words to say to people linking her to Jamie Foxx. She also used humor to drive her point.

Before anyone could put color into Kate Beckinsale and Jamie Foxx being seen together, the actress is setting the record straight.

WHY KATE FELT THE NEED TO SPEAK OUT

Rumors swirled that Foxx has moved on to another Kate referring to his former longtime lover, Katie Holmes and his alleged new lover, Beckinsale.

The latter was seen in the company of Foxx at a Golden Globe Ambassadors party in West Hollywood and they were reportedly cozy. Foxx had his arm around Beckinsale’s back as she leaned towards him. Photos of this sighting were splashed over the news.

Naturally, two single celebrities caught in a slight embrace was reason enough for rumor mongers to suspect there was something going on. However, Beckinsale was quick to throw shade at those playing matchmaker.

Sharing photos from that event with Foxx, Beckinsale clarified one thing - that people shouldn’t put meaning to two persons standing next to each other. In her own words, she wrote,

“I would like to point out that standing next to someone does not mean I am dating them.”

She wittingly added,

“Currently in line at the dry cleaners and if that’s true I’ve got a hell of a problem.”

Beckinsale, whose divorce from Len Wiseman had just been finalized this month, was previously linked to Pete Davidson. The pair reportedly dated for four months earlier this year.

Meanwhile, coming from his alleged long-term relationship with Holmes, Foxx has been recently linked to singer Sela Vave and Natalie Friedman. Both were spotted hanging out with the 51-year-old comedian on separate occasions.

Vave was spotted holding hands with Foxx at a Hollywood nightclub following rumors of the actor’s split from Holmes in August. He later denied any romance between him and Vave and simply referred to her as his artist who hung out with his kids.

Meanwhile, Foxx and Friedman were seen countless times together the past weeks but he hasn’t addressed rumors regarding the two of them.

As for Foxx and Holmes, six years of dating privately came to a halt to the surprise of many. According to a source for People, the relationship just “ran its course.”
